WPForms puts journey tracking behind its higher tiers. Sense Forms includes attribution free. What each gives you, and what the pricing model really costs.
WPForms is the most widely used commercial form builder in WordPress, with a free Lite version and four paid tiers. Its builder is genuinely well designed and its documentation is thorough.
The meaningful difference is what each plugin considers a paid feature.
The tier question
WPForms offers a User Journey addon that records the pages a visitor viewed before submitting. It is a good feature and closest in spirit to what Sense Forms does.
It is available on the higher-tier plans, not the free version.
Sense Forms includes the visitor journey, traffic source classification, all five UTM parameters, referrer, landing page and device on every submission, at no cost, with no tier restriction.
That is the comparison in a sentence: the capability you would upgrade WPForms for is the capability Sense Forms was built around.
On pricing
WPForms advertises first-year prices that increase substantially on renewal — commonly around double. This is normal in the WordPress plugin market and not a criticism, but it is worth checking the renewal figure rather than the checkout figure when budgeting.

Where WPForms is stronger
Templates. A large library of pre-built forms. Sense Forms has none — you start from blank.
Payments. Stripe, PayPal and Square integrations. Sense Forms cannot take payments at all.
Marketing integrations. Native connections to Mailchimp, Constant Contact, HubSpot and others. Sense Forms has no CRM integrations.
Maturity. Millions of installs, a large support team, and a long track record. Sense Forms is new.
That last point deserves weight. If you need commercial support with a response guarantee, an established vendor is the safer choice.
Choosing
Choose WPForms if you need payment forms, native CRM integrations, a template library, or the assurance of an established vendor with a support team.
Choose Sense Forms if your forms are straightforward lead capture and the thing you actually lack is knowing which campaign, channel or page produced each enquiry — particularly if you would otherwise be upgrading tiers to get it.
Migrating
No automated importer. Rebuilding a standard contact form takes a few minutes.
Existing WPForms entries stay in their own tables. Running both in parallel while you verify delivery is straightforward, since neither interferes with the other.
